2021 Reserve Zinfandel

The 140-year-old Reserve Zinfandel from Napa Valley is a wine of extraordinary heritage and sophistication. Sourced from a historic vineyard, this Zinfandel represents a unique snapshot of Napa Valley’s winemaking history and its evolution over more than a century.  The winemaking process for this Reserve Zinfandel adheres to traditional methods that honor its historical roots. The grapes are carefully hand-harvested to ensure only the best fruit is selected. Fermentation takes place in small, open-top fermenters to allow gentle extraction of color and flavor, preserving the wine’s elegance and depth.  This kind of attention is usually reserved for Bordeaux grapes varietals but we figured since these are some of the oldest vines still producing in the Valley,  they should be treated as such. On the palate, the wine delivers a harmonious blend of power and finesse. The rich, concentrated fruit flavors are supported by velvety tannins and balanced acidity. The old vine characteristics provide a depth of flavor that evolves on the palate, revealing layers of dark fruit, spice, and earthy nuances. The oak influence is well-integrated, enhancing the wine’s complexity without overshadowing the fruit.
